Security in the digital world is becoming more critical for both individuals and businesses. That's why protecting your website and its data is essential. At HostPlacenta, we prioritize the privacy and security of our customers and their business with us.
That being said, we do not analyze or collect
visitor logs of Namecheap-hosted websites. However, we do store web
server access logs on our Shared Hosting servers in the form of:
"%h %l %u %t \"%r\" %>s %b \"%{Referer}i\" \"%{User-Agent}i\""
Where:
%h
Refers to the remote host (client IP address)
%l
Refers to the user identity, or dash, if none (often not used)
%u
Refers to the username, via HTTP authentication, or dash if not used
%t
Refers to the timestamp of when Apache received the HTTP request
\”%r\
Refers to the actual client request
%>s
Refers to the status code Apache returns in response to the request
%b
Refers to the size of the client request in bytes
\”%{Referer}i\”
Referrer header or dash if not used (In other words, did they click a URL on another website to come to your site)
\”%{User-agent}i\
Refers to the user agent (contains information about the requester’s browser, OS, etc.)
These aforementioned logs are collected every day in an app that
saves counters only (without any correlation between them), such as:
- Request hours
- IP address location
- Robot IDs
- File types
- Errors
- Visited URLs
- IP addresses
